Modern dolls are dolls sculpted in recent years. They can have glass eyes, as most of the antiques did, or painted eyes.
Two common techniques for painting the eyes are DDP invented by Ron Booker, and Advanced DDP invented by Carla Snels.

These dolls can be painted in any colours or styles desired by the artist, but because they are also art forms, they deserve to be painted well.
They should be dressed in well made clothing as well, made to suit the period and intent of the dolls.

Note: handmade means made with care by an artist who sewed the dress, but the work was done using a sewing machine. All prices are in Canadian dollars.

Annika is a tall girl wearing a lovely, green handmade dress, handmade hat, plus bloomers and a slip. Toe to bonnet brim she is 24 ½ inches. She is a modern doll with glass eyes, and her top eyelashes are false. She carries a little bouquet of flowers, probably for her mother or sister. She was painted by Celia Desmond, author of Making To-Live-For Dolls.

This baby is a sweet little companion for a small child, but his head is porcelain so the doll is breakable. He has plastic eyes, and a hand stuffed (with cotton) body.

He is nicely painted. He will be wearing a different outfit which I will purchase to fit this little body.
