Elgin 18S 6 Ounce Hunter

Watch cases were made of many different materials and in many different designs, but this one is special, as it contains a full six ounces of coin silver, as far as I know the heaviest case ever used in an American pocket watch. A reinforced watch pocket may have been recommended for this one. The keywind movement has been recently serviced and runs very well. This watch was manufactured in 1874.
